An immersion in the wilderness
The nature lovers can explore this area through hiking during about 5 days traveling more than 60 kilometers alternating trails, off-piste and rivers. The circuit requires some fitness and a mandatory preliminary preparation. The walk continues along a coral reef and requires sometimes to cross by swimming or with small inflatable boat across the river arms.
The rest of the route takes you along the slopes leading to grey sandy beaches. It is essential to bring all the necessary camping equipment and food to avoid unpleasant surprises as there is no supply point. Indeed, the route only passes through very few villages and some campsites. Another essential element: get well informed about the tide times because some crossings are only possible at low tide.
Departure will take place from the river Xwé Fachia (Bouquet port) and arrival will be the village of Mamié at 12.5km of Yaté bridge.
